An Easy To Do One Day Body Reset!

I wanted to give you a 24-hour action plan so you have it this plan on hand for when your body needs a pick-me-up during any busy period or when you just know your body needs a pick-me-up.

It will allow you to eat delicious foods, still be a part of social get-togethers, but stay in alignment with your body.

It’s a step-by-step plan for when your body just needs a lift.

Okay, let’s get started. 

On rising – Hot water with the juice of half a lemon. 

An amazingly refreshing & cleansing way to start the day, full of vitamin C which is needed for energy & quenching free radicals which build up as a result of sugar, stress & a hectic work/ life period; vitamin C rich foods are a must!

Breakfast – A three-egg omelette with spinach, onions, broccoli, fresh coriander or parsley & ground turmeric. 

This meal is naturally loaded with protein, which will keep you full, the onions & broccoli provide sulphur & B-vitamins to power your liver’s detox pathways, & turmeric again for added liver detoxification.

Lunch – Broccoli & sundried tomato soup. 

Easy to make, contains nothing but broccoli, spinach, onions, garlic, sundried tomatoes, stock & coconut oil/ olive oil for cooking; it tastes delicious & comforting. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, contain a special plant compound called indol-3-carbonyl which supports liver detoxification. 

Dinner – Courgetti with basil & cashew pesto & grilled salmon

You can make courgette in a number of ways; with a spiraliser or simply with a potato peeler, & then cut into thin strips. Once prepared, mix in the pesto & cook on the hob for a few minutes, so it’s warmed through. Grill a piece of salmon & flake through the courgetti. This dish is a winter warmer & much lighter on the waistline.

Snacks – 5 greens juice (1/2 cucumber, 1 green apple, 1 stick of celery, 2 small handfuls spinach, 2cm piece of ginger…juice the lot)

In the absence of a juicer, enjoy cucumber & celery with some hummus or nut butter (ideally almond or cashew).

You’ll notice the colour theme is green. Getting a couple of veggie-based juices into your day when you’re intentionally doing a day of rebooting,  

Fluids – Chai tea or Rooibos tea throughout the day.

The anti-inflammatory herbs & spices in these two teas will help your body reduce any inflammation going on. Chai tea also smells like Christmas (make sure it’s not Chai tea powder which is full of sugar, & instead opt for a Chai tea bags).
